Pillow Queens release new single 'Kiss Kiss'
Pillow Queens are currently mixing their fourth album but have not yet announced a release date.
Dublin indie-rock band Pillow Queens have released a new single, 'Kiss Kiss'.
"'Kiss Kiss' is about desire in its most volatile form: intense, physical, cyclical, where attraction and connection get knotted up with chaos," said the band. "It's a dreamlike, unstable feeling of going with it anyway, a 'fuck it, it'll be grand' surrender ... Desire and love override logic."
Pillow Queens are a three-piece comprising guitarists Pam Connolly and Cathy McGuinness and bassist Sarah Corcoran - with all providing vocals.
Having previously been a four-piece, the band described the change:
"We initially found it hard to readjust, but the challenge of experimenting with new methods of songwriting was exciting," Corcoran said. "We went in with no expectations and it just flew out of us," McGuinness added.
The group have released three albums, In Waiting in 2020, Leave the Light On in 2022 and Name Your Sorrow in 2024.
After the release of their sophomore album, the band earned a nomination for Album of the Year at the RTÉ Choice Music Prize, and made their late night television debut on The Late Late Show with James Corden.
Live, the band has opened for the likes of IDLES, Pavement and Phoebe Bridgers and made headline appearances internationally.
Earlier this month, they were featured on National Public Radio's (NPR) World Cafe music programme, alongside other Irish acts such as CMAT, Dermot Kennedy and Madra Salach.
Pillow Queens are currently mixing their fourth album but have not yet announced a release date.
