Paul Furey RIP
Legendary Fureys accordionist Paul Furey dies at 53 following a short illness
Ireland's trad community is mourning the loss of accordion player Paul Furey.
The youngest member of The Fureys, the 54-year-old passed away Sunday night (16 June) at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin after a short illness.
Very much a musician's musician, his superb box-work was very much in evidence on the band's international 1981 hit, 'When You Were Sweet Sixteen.'
