Opeth to play Olympia Theatre
Progressive Swedish Metallers confirm October date.
Acclaimed Swedish metal band Opeth have confirmed a date in Dublin's Olympia Theatre on October 13.
The group are continuing their promotion for 2008's 'Watergate' album (which clocked in an impressive no. 23 in the US charts last year), having sold out Vicar St. on their last visit to Dublin with Cynic last year. Originating within the early 90's Swedish Death Meta scene, the group have evolved over the course of nine studio albums to a unique sound that mixes jazz and 70s progressive sounds with harder hitting metal elements.
Becoming ever more frequent visitors to Ireland in recent years as they've elbowed their way into the metal mainstream and having sold out Vicar St on their last visit to these shores, demand for tickets are expected to be pretty high. They are priced at €30 and are available from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
