New Orchid Collective Video Debuts on hotpress.com
They are one of the finest new Irish bands in aeons. And they are well on their way to becoming huge. You can appreciate why, watching this brand new video, seen for the first time today, here on hotpress.com
Orchid Collective are one of the most exciting new bands to have emerged in Ireland over the past five years.
They made huge progress during 2016, taking their ambitious folk-influenced alternative rock sound all over Ireland, gigging relentlessly and playing Electric Picnic a well as other festival dates. They supported Picture This on their Irish tour, and won many new fans among the growing hordes of admirers of the star-bound Kildare sensations.
The Courage EP was released as part of a carefully orchestrated campaign to build the band’s grass roots following. It was a fine introduction to Orchid Collective's strength as record-makers, with a lovely exploratory quality and finely-wrought songs. Among its four tracks is ‘Tomorrow’…
As a special post-Christmas bonus, Hot Press is proud to announce the World Premiere of a beautifully shot and wonderfully evocative new video for what is one of the Dublin band’s stand-out cuts.
“'Tomorrow' was one of those very rare occasions when a song just came together by itself, without any over-thinking or doubt,” David O'Shea tells Hot Press. “It came together so quickly and naturally that within two hours of sitting down, myself and Shea had the song structure finished and ready to take to the band. It’s a personal favourite for all of us. I hope that people will share the same connection we have with it.”
And so, indeed, do we! It is a beautiful track – and the video is very special too. And now it is your to enjoy...
Orchid Collective play the Dublin Unitarian Church on Saturday 4 March. The Courage EP is out now.
