Power's musical journey began in 2015 when she joined American musician Peter Broderick on his Ireland and UK tour.
Broderick admired Power's songs and invited her to his home studio, where they recorded music for her self-titled debut LP.
"The first album is a bit up in the clouds and reverberant," she says. "There's a lot of space in between all the sounds".
Three years later, she's just finished her own three-week tour overseas, promoting her latest record, The Two Worlds .
Power is particularly proud of the second track, "Don't Shut Me Up (Politely)", which proved challenging to write.
"There were a few people in my life, the church and in school that I was angry at for trying to manipulate me and put me down."
Much of her inspiration is drawn from her experiences as both a woman and a mother." I write about my feelings about trying to be a touring musician balancing out being a parent as well. It can be a difficult task to navigate sometimes but it's the main part of my life to it filters in to my music."
Brigid Mae Power played All Together Now on August 4.
