Music Network is now inviting applications for the New Generation Award 2013, a unique professional development programme designed to assist a selected group of Ireland’s brightest young musicians at the beginning of their professional career. 

The award this year is open to young Irish jazz groups with between two and five members.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Monday September 23. Through an audition process in November, an Irish or Ireland-based jazz group, focussed on pursuing a career in performance, will be selected to participate in the programme. 

The award offers:
 
– Performance opportunities with Music Network promoters in Ireland with an agreed fee and expenses
– Subsidised production of a professional CD
– Marketing tools such as professional photo shoot, print materials and a digital film
– Training opportunities e.g. master classes/workshops, continuing professional development courses
– Professional support and advice towards the development of participants’ careers as professional musicians
