Neneh Cherry Releases Music Video For 'Natural Skin Deep'
'Natural Skin Deep' explores our relationship with technology.
Neneh Cherry has released a music video for her song 'Natural Skin Deep'.
In the music video, we find Cherry singing and dancing through Beirut, Lebanon as crowds of people film her on their phones. 'Natural Skin Deep' is a track off of the Swedish singers fifth studio album Broken Politics, the Four Tet produced LP which was recorded a month after Donald Trump's inauguration and takes on various political issues. The video is directed by Akinola Davies, who has worked with Larry B and Mischa Mafia.
“There is a lot going on in video truth be told, I went to see Neneh play at Village Underground and everyone whipped out their phones to film her, so much so I got asked by this guy to move because I was in the way of his phone," said Davies in a statement. "Seemed quite ironic that the world is right here in front of us, really 360-degree drama. Instead of communicating through screens maybe we’re all consuming it through screens.”
Neneh Cherry is set to perform at The Academy on February 16. Check out the video for 'Natural Skin Deep' below:
