The National announce stops in Belfast and Cork
The indie legends are slated for Irish summer shows.
Following their stunning headlining performance at this year’s All Together Now Festival in Waterford, indie-rock behemoths The National have announced dates in Belfast and Cork this upcoming summer. Matt Berninger, Aaron Dessner, Bryce Dessner, Scott Devendorf and Bryan Devendorf will take to the stage Live at Botanic Gardens Belfast on 6th June 2020, before performing, two days later, Live at the Marquee Cork on 8th June. This Belfast show at Botanic Gardens will be The National’s first performance in the city in over seven years.
Tickets for the special event go on sale this Friday, December 6 at 9am.
The National have established themselves as mainstays of arenas and festivals with sold-out performances and headlining slots around the world. Over their 20-year career, the band has sold more than 2 million albums in the U.S. alone.
Their most recent album, released earlier this year, I Am Easy To Find, is the band’s eighth studio album and the follow-up to 2017’s GRAMMY®-award winning release Sleep Well Beast. The album features vocal contributions from Sharon Van Etten, Brooklyn Youth Chorus, Lisa Hannigan, Mina Tindle and more.
A companion short film with the same name was also released with music by The National and inspired by the album. The film was directed by Academy Award-nominated director Mike Mills (20th Century Women, Beginners), and starring Academy Award Winner Alicia Vikander.
