Music Industry Xplained: Hot Press announces details of the fifth MIX course
Music Industry Xplained is aimed at those seeking careers in the music industry and aims to give students a practical overview of the workings of the various components of the industry using lecturers that are currently employed at the top of the music and entertainment industries.
Lecturers include: Willie O'Reilly (Managing Director Today FM Radio) Janine Nallon (Marketing & Business director RMG Chart Entertainment), Alan McEvoy (Business affairs- The Cranberries) and Jackie Hayden (Hot Press Magazine).
Past pupils of the MIX 04 course have been busy building their career paths in the music industry with resounding success. Armed with the MIX certificate, past pupils have gone on to gain employment in record labels and artist agencies with many others managing successful and up and coming bands. Others made so many concrete contacts on the course that they generated considerable A&R interest for their recordings.
MIX will run at The Holiday Inn, Pearse St, Dublin every Tuesday at 7.30pm from September 27 to December 13 2005. The Course Directors are Music Publisher and IMRO board member Johnny Lappin and Jackie Hayden of Hot Press.
The practical workings of the industry will be explained by key figures who have worked with artists as successful as U2, The Cranberries, Clannad, Christy Moore, Westlife, Jack L, David Gray, Declan O'Rourke, and others. Key subjects covered will include The Internet as a Marketing Tool, Record Companies, Music Marketing, Publicity, Image Development, Record Production, Song writing, Music Publishing, the Media, Performing, Management, Finance, Touring and Distribution.
