Mura Masa announces new album Curve 1 and shares latest single ‘FLY’
Check out the new single below.
Grammy-winning artist and producer Mura Masa has announced his fourth studio album Curve 1, set for release on August 23, as well as the accompanying lead single ‘FLY’.
The follow up to the 2022 record Demon Time, Curve 1 is described as a “dark departure from the pop-leaning narratives” of the artist’s previous releases.
“‘Curve 1’ is ultimately a manifestation of an attitude I’ve been cultivating in my personal life,” Mura Masa said. “Ignore everything. All the content, all of the attention economy, all of it.
“In doing that, the really meaningful and vital parts of what’s around you make themselves known and unignorable, demanding your energy.”
Marking his first offering as an independent artist through his own record label, the album is said to be “as free and anti-narrative as possible” and “impressionistic.”
Born and raised in Guernsey, Mura Masa began self-producing at the age of 15. He began his career by posting a mixtape called Soundtrack to a Death to SoundCloud in 2014, which was subsequently distributed globally by the German label Jakarta Records.
