Mono Band appeal for help to trace stolen guitar
Mono Band mainman Noel Hogan has appealed for the return of a custom-made guitar that was stolen from the Temple Bar Music Centre before their Hard Working Class Heroes appearance there.
The value of the Taylor acoustic is secondary to the fact that Hogan used it throughout the latter part of his Cranberries career.
Says a spokesperson: “The guitar had been placed in the venue’s lock-up when Noel and the rest of the group arrived. Soon afterwards a member of staff noticed an individual, who did not appear to be a ‘hard working class hero’, walking down the street with an expensive looking instrument. When challenged, the gentleman in question made off towards Fleet Street. Suspicions aroused, artists were asked to check their equipment and the Mono Band theft was discovered.”
Anyone who knows of the guitar’s whereabouts is asked to contact their local Garda station or the Hard Working Class Heroes office on (01) 878 2250.
Given that he was caught on CCTV, the culprit may wish to return it before his collar is felt.
On a more upbeat note, Mono Band clock up more mileage this month as they visit Whelan’s, Dublin (September 21); Cyprus Avenue, Cork (22); and Dolan’s, Limerick (24)
