Posh music fans will be interested to learn that the London Irish Symphony Orchestra are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with the premiere of a new work by their 21-year-old composer in residence Sofia Carlile.
Taking place on March 15 in St. Paul’s Church, Knightsbridge, the recital of her Symphony No. 1 will be a further boost to the profile of the Leesider who was one of the first recipients of the Bill Whelan International Music Bursary, and received rave reviews at the 2006 London Festival of Contemporary Church Music for the six-voice Eternal Power Of Earth And Air.
