For Those I Love release new single ‘Mirror’
It marks the third single off of the upcoming record Carving The Stone.
For Those I Love, the brainchild of Dublin producer, visual artist and songwriter David Balfe, have released their new single ‘Mirror’, hailing from their upcoming second album, Carving The Stone for August 8 via September Recordings.
The new track follows the release of the record’s first two singles 'Of The Sorrows' and ‘No Scheme', as well as acclaimed performances at Glastonbury as both solo artist and as a special guest with Overmono.
On the new single, Balfe argues that Dublin, is “in bed with techno-feudalism,” a theory which argues that we have undergone a transition to a post-capitalist world in which we are all digital serfs, enslaved by our new feudal overlords in Silicon Valley.

In support of their upcoming album, For Those I Love will tour Ireland for the first time, kicking off with a date in Belfast’s Limelight 2 on October 1 and wrapping up in Dublin’s 3Olympia on October 6, with stops in Cork, Listowel and Galway along the way.
Balfe is also set to play a show at this year’s Electric Picnic festival on Saturday 30, as well as four dates across the UK in September.
Carving the Stone is said to be “a bold reckoning with what it feels like to be alive today in contemporary Dublin, as well as a depiction of Balfe’s own quest to find stability in a city riven with malice. He finds pockets of peace and truth between Marxist musings and diaristic writing on the meaning of art; between vignettes that capture the indignities of working-class life and bright memories of teenage abandon.”
Carving The Stone is available for pre-order here.
