Live Review: Tiga @ Forbidden Fruit
The Lighthouse Tent
Among the final performances of this year’s Forbidden Fruit, Tiga’s set on the Lighthouse stage is a case of saving the best until last. An electrifying performance by the Canadian electronic musician fills the tent, which ends up attracting more than a few stragglers from other acts on top of his own die-hard fans.
Tiga opens the show with ‘Bugatti’ and continues it with a number of tracks from his 2016 album, No Fantasy Required. ‘Planet E’, ‘100’ and ‘Plush’ go down a treat, while an infectious rendition of 2013’s ‘Let’s Go Dancing’ brings further cheers. Technically impressive and with seamless transitions, even the harshest of critics could have little cause for complaint with the crowd-pleasing set.
Ever the gentleman, Tiga repeatedly thanks the audience for coming. “This is my second time in Dublin and it’s already amazing,” he announces, to roars from the crowd; we can only hope that he visits us for a third time before too long. A fittingly triumphant end to the weekend in Kilmainham.
