LIVE REVIEW: Outlook festival in Croatia
Dimensions was done and dusted, but the party rolled on past summer...
For some, festival season was over once Dimensions wrapped up, but for the true revellers heads, things were just getting started.
Located in the exact same spot, Outlook is Dimensions' sister festival, with Fort Punto Christo becoming more of a community than a traditional festival. With a different flair, it’s a much bigger affair, with a different type of folk at it too.
With the weather staying upwards of 35 degrees, you can’t help but notice that your once spacious area in the campsite is now inhabited with an extra 20 people with tents popping up left, right and centre. The screaming becomes louder, the accents grow stronger.
Dubstep, drum n' bass, grime, hip-hop, trap and reggae all feature on an eclectic bill.
The Madlib Carnival is one of the most anticipated moments of Outlook, with Pete Rock, J Rocc and Moodyman pitching up, and it doesn't disappointed.
David Rodigan – one of the most well-respected MCs in the game for the past three decades – and Manchester's Dub Phizik join the likes of Congo Natty, Congo Dubz and Tenor Fly at the massive Harbour Stage, which creates a more of dubby, jungle vibe.
Perhaps the highlight of the weekend is DMZ (Digital Mystics), which brings together early UK dubstep pioneers Mala and Coki, they go back-to-back with Loefah, who lives up to his reputation as a versatile DJ, delivering a set that pulls together disparate genres to create a glorious finale to five fine days.
Pre-sale registration is now open for Outlook's 9th edition at [link]www.outlookfestival.com[/link]
