Live Report: TOMORA bring us closer with otherworldly Heineken® GREENLIGHT Button Factory show
The major new music platform Heineken® GREENLIGHT aims to bring hot international acts and hotly-tipped homegrown talent alike to Irish cities. It kicked off over the bank holiday weekend in Dublin, including the restless rave atmosphere created by TOMORA on Friday night at The Button Factory.
As The Button Factory is enveloped in the warm pink glow of TOMORA’s debut album cover COME CLOSER, accompanied by the impossibly rousing beats of ‘RING THE ALARM’, the tone is already set - we are in for an exceptional evening.
A collaboration between Norwegian art-pop maverick AURORA and The Chemical Brothers’ Tom Rowlands, TOMORA first popped up as an unknown alias on the lineup announcement of Coachella. In December, the two revealed their identity by releasing the debut single that, early in the evening, resonates with real potency.

It lacks nothing in breathless intensity, ear-piercing heaviness and unforgettable performances.
AURORA is a master of her craft no matter the genre she's exploring. In her solo output, she favours ethereal, delicate melodies that bring the listener into otherworldly places. Here, her uniquely powerful tones make for the perfect accompaniment to the harsh, noisy and deliciously riotous beats put together by Rowlands.

Standing together in white dresses, the two look almost celestial and more than a little hypnotising, sharp movements and unbelievable stage presence in evidence from start to finish.

In a live setting, the shiver-inducing tones and mysterious beats of ‘THE THING’ are powerful enough to make the head spin.
The temperature rises with every track, as the duo jump from heart-spinning delicacies to hard-hitting rave tracks, the whole room seemingly dancing in unison. They may be used to venues three times the size, but AURORA and Rowlands are visibly delighted with the intimate setting, the Norwegian singer expressing the sense of wonder she feels that she can catch a glimpse of every person dancing in front of her.

It is to roars of approval that TOMORA and Amalie Holt Kleive leave the stage at The Button Factory, warming up for the DJ set which Tom Rowlands will offer later that night.
A gorgeously intense gig.
