Listen to White Denim’s brand new single
The single, ‘It Might Get Dark,’ is the latest song to be released from the psychedelic-rock group’s new album, Performance, which is due out on August 25th via City Slang Records.
Performance will be the band’s seventh studio album. The Texas-natives have been releasing music together since 2007.
Speaking about the song, vocalist and guitarist James Petralli said:
““[The song is] loosely based on an old White Denim motif called ‘Pretty Boys and Girls.’ Though the trio performed the tune hundreds of times, ‘Pretty Boys and Girls’ never landed on a record. We re-wrote the absolute shit out of it, nodded to Loose Fur’s ‘Laminated Cat’ in the new production and feel, stuck the ‘Mister Sandman’ arpeggio in the bridge, and now the biz execs have determined that it’s the summer smash we’ve not necessarily been waiting for… Either way, we hope you enjoy the sprightly despair of ‘It Might Get Dark.’”
‘It Might Get Dark’ maintains the group’s signature experimental garage-band sound.
