Monaé's latest studio album 'Dirty Computer' arrived back in 2018.
Janelle Monaé has released her new single, "Stronger", from new animated Netflix series We the People.
The 10-episode show, produced by Barack and Michelle Obama, centres on civic engagement and will debut on Netflix on July 4th.
Monaé is featured in the show teaching viewers through song, which also features other artists such as H.E.R., Andra Day, Lin Manuel Miranda, Daveed Diggs and Adam Lambert. Watch the trailer here.
'Stronger' is the latest in a number of singles released by Monaé since her 2018 album Dirty Computer.
The singer/actress contributed "Turntables" to the voter suppression documentary All In: The Fight for Democracy last year, and also put a new spin on "He’s a Tramp" for Disney's live-action Lady and the Tramp remake in 2019.
In addition to voicing a Pekingese named Peg in that production, Monaé currently stars in the second season of the Amazon Prime original series Homecoming, and has been cast in the upcoming Knives Out sequel.
She also recently announced her science-fiction writing debut, a collection of 'Afro-futuristic short stories' written in collaboration with a number of other writers that will expand on the world of her third album Dirty Computer.
