LISTEN: Father John Misty releases post-election ballad 'Holy Hell'

In his new song, Father John Misty makes oblique references to Donald Trump's victory in the recent presidential election and the liberal distress that followed. "Damn, the future ain't lookin' so bright," Misty sings on the shabby piano ballad 'Holy Hell'. "Never asked for a paradise/ But 70 years would be nice."

Though he doesn't call out Trump by name, the president-elect's presence seems to peek through in lines like, "The economy just don't explain this, this unfathomable, nameless rift/ Who knows if it even exists/ It's just some highly effective rhetoric/ Used by perverts who get off on it."

The song follows Father John Misty's 'Trump's Private Pilot' single, released early this month as part of the 30 Days, 50 Songs campaign against the President-Elect.
