Liam Gallagher says Oasis have ‘unfinished business’ while promoting his first solo single
The younger Gallagher brother was speaking to BBC Radio 1 last night about his burgeoning new solo career.
Liam Gallagher is back making music, this time as a solo artist. ‘Wall of Glass’, the first single from his debut solo album was played on the radio for the first time, and the video was also released yesterday.
Gallagher says sticking to what he knows best with his solo career ‘’For me it’s just a rock and roll tune, guitar music, I think a lot of people try and reinvent the wheel, I just want to blow the dust off it, and give it a good shine.’’ He said during the interview. ‘’People will say they have heard it all before, but if you don’t like it, go buy something else!’’
During the interview the subject of an Oasis reunion inevitable surfaced. There has been online speculation that the Gallaghers were going to reform the band for Ariana Grande’s Manchester benefit concert, and while Liam denied this, he did admit that there was some ‘’unfinished business’’.
‘’If oasis ever got back together and maybe they will, maybe they won’t, a lot of people would say to leave it in the past, you were great then, but mate, if we got back together it’d be happening mate, there’d be no dodgy gigs, we’d be bang on. So yeah there is unfinished business there, and we’ll see what happens. But in the meantime, we’re two little solo boys.’’
Gallagher also shed some light on what fans can expect from his upcoming solo album, As You Were, when asked that if the whole album was in the rock style of ‘Wall of Glass’. ‘There’s some calmer tunes, there’s definitely some in your face bangers.’ With his iconic voice and irascible attitude as strong as ever, the solo career of the younger Gallagher brother will hotly followed by old and new fans.
