Leonard Cohen confirms Sligo
He's playing Lissadell House on July 31.
After weeks of will he/won’t he speculation, Leonard Cohen has confirmed on his website that he’s playing Sligo’s Lissadell House on July 31, with tickets going on sale shortly. As anyone who caught the Canadian at Kilmainham or in the O2 will tell you, this is a show not to be missed!
For those of you not au fait with your stately homes, Lissadell is a 19th century neo-classical pile, which was put on the literary map by W.B. Yeats who used to holiday there.
After passing through various aristocratic hands, it was sold in 2003 to an Irish couple, Edward Walsh and Constance Cassidy, who’ve spent a small fortune restoring the house to its former glories.
