Lenny Kravitz live at Marlay Park, Dublin
Grunge princess Alanis Morissette and bad-boy retro rocker Lenny Kravitz delivered a nostalgia-splashed double-play at Marlay Park.
Sporting hair that nearly reached to her shoes, Morissette served up a laid-back greatest hits performance, dominated by favourites from her 1995 Jagged Little Pill album – the set culminated in a sing-along rendition of ‘Ironic’.
For his part, Kravitz seemed determined to demonstrate there is more to his repertoire than re-heated Jimi Hendrix moves: backed by a super-slick pick-up band, he moved between gospel and blues and straight-up rock heroics. But for many the highlight will have been a surprisingly slinky covers of ‘Billy Jean’ and ‘Another Brick In The Wall’.
