Kim Kardashian Persuades Trump To Pardon Convicted Drug Criminal
Kim Kardashian has revealed that she broke down in a flood of tears last night after she phoned a 63-year-old woman behind bars to inform her that she was going to be finally released from prison after spending 20 years locked up.
The two former reality TV stars held a "great meeting" in the Oval Office last week, according to Trump, to discuss prison reform and the pardon of a convicted drug criminal Alice Johnson.
The great-grandmother, who was not eligible for parole, was released last night after serving 20 years of a life sentence. She was convicted in 1996 on eight counts related to a Memphis-based cocaine trafficking operation.
Taking to Twitter last night after an emotional call with Alice, Kim wrote: "The phone call I just had with Alice will forever be one of my best memories. Telling her for the first time and hearing her screams while crying together is a moment I will never forget."

Speaking after the meeting with Trump, Kim spoke of her optimism that he would pardon the grandmother.
She said at the time: "We are optimistic about Ms. Johnson’s future and hopeful that she —and so many like her—will get a second chance at life," Kim said after the summit with Trump
"I would like to thank President Trump for his time this afternoon. It is our hope that the President will grant clemency to Ms. Alice Marie Johnson who is serving a life sentence for a first-time, non-violent drug offense."
Afterwards, Trump took to Twitter and stated: "Great meeting with Kim Kardashian today, talked about prison reform and sentencing."
Speaking about his client, Barnet told the Daily Mail: "Today's her birthday, so no greater gift than freedom on her birthday."

This isn't the first time a celebrity has asked Donald Trump to pardon somebody. Just last week Donald Trump posthumously pardoned the legendary boxer Jack Johnson, who was convicted of violating the Mann Act in 1913, at the request of Sylvester Stallone who famously played a boxer himself in the Rocky movies.
