Kevin Shields nominated for British Academy Film Awards
The former My Bloody Valentine member has been nominated for an award for his contribution to the Lost In Translation soundtrack
Kevin Shields may have to thank Mum, Dad, God and everyone who knows him on February 15 when the British Academy Film Awards take place at the Odeon Leicester Square in London's West End.
The reason being that Shields' contribution to the Lost In Translation soundtrack has been nominated for the 'Anthony Asquith Award For Achievement In Film Music'.
BAFTA insiders reckon on it being a two-way fight between Lost In… and Cold Mountain, the American Civil War romp which includes five tracks by White Stripe Jack White on its OST.
As revealed last year on hotpress.com, Shields and his former bandmates have been in the studio finishing off some old tracks that will feature on a My Bloody Valentine box-set.
