Josh Ritter tops Irish indie chart
The new top 20 should also put a smile on Mark E. Smith's face.
Hot Press cover star Josh Ritter has debuted at number one on the Irish indie chart with So Runs The World Away (Independent).
He replaces Heathers who drop to number two with Here, Not There (Aunthill).
The second highest new entry at six is Your Future Our Clutter By The Fall (Domino) whose mainman Mark E. Smith gave extremely good quote yesterday when he met HP’s Craig Fitzsimons for a natter. You’ll be able to read the results shortly.
Also debuting on the survey at 18 is Avi Buffalo’s eponymous album (Sub Pop). They’re just one place ahead of The Strokes’ classic Is This It, which mysteriously reappears at number 19.
