John Legend announces new album, reveals artwork
The soul singer and songwriter took to Twitter to announce his upcoming album Darkness and Light and reveal its striking cover artwork
The album will be Legend’s first since 2013’s Love in the Future and features an extensive list of collaborators led by producer Blake Mills and engineer Shawn Everett.
Mills revealed in a separate Instagram post that the featured contributors will include Chance the Rapper, Kamasi Washington, Brittany Howard (Alabama Shakes), Miguel, Lucius, Wendy Melvoin (Prince & The Revolution), Tobias Jesso Jr., Pino Palladino (The Who, John Mayer Trio), Will Oldham (Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy), and many more.
Legend released the first song from the album, ‘Love Me Now,’ in early October. Though his Darkness and Light announcement did not include a release date, Legend revealed that it would be available for pre-order on Friday and he would be answering questions from fans on Twitter this Thursday night.
