Jay-Z calls Chris Martin a "modern-day Shakespeare"

In a recent interview with Metro, Jay-Z sang his praises for Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. The American rapper was unsparing in his admiration for Martin, saying, “I have been in the industry long enough to know when I’m in the presence of a genius and Chris Martin is just that. In years to come, Britain will look back at him as a modern day Shakespeare. He is an incredible recording artist, an incredible songwriter, but where he really comes alive is performing live. If you get the chance to see Coldplay live, do it – you ain’t gonna regret it.”
Jay-Z has worked with Martin in the past both in the studio and onstage, collaborating in 2006 on ‘Beach Chair’,from Jay-Z’s album Kingdom Come, and were the co-headliners for a New Year's Eve bash in New York to kick off 2012.
