Jason Isbell announces new album Reunions, shares 'Be Afraid'
Reunions is due May 15.
Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit have a new song out called 'Be Afraid.' It's the first single off their upcoming album, Reunions.
The new album follows Isbell's 2017 release The Nashville Sound, also with his band the 400 Unit. Since then, he's been quite busy. Between tours throughout the world and collaborations with artists like the Highwomen and Sheryl Crow, Isbell has also written music for the film A Star is Born and released a live album.
The message of 'Be Afraid' is ironically one of bravery. "Be afraid, be very afraid," Isbell sings on the chorus, "but do it anyway, do it anyway." It has Isbell's signature Americana twang mixed with interesting distortion.
Reunions will be released via Isbell's own Southeastern Records on May 15. Check out the song and tracklist below.
1. "What've I Done to Help"
2. "Dreamsicle"
3. "Only Children"
4. "Overseas"
5. "Running With Our Eyes Closed"
6. "River"
7. "Be Afraid"
8. "St. Peter's Autograph"
9. "It Gets Easier"
10. "Letting You Go"
