James Vincent McMorrow announces We Move: Early Records and Alternate Versions
James Vincent McMorrow has confirmed the release of We Move: Early Recordings and Alternate Versions, an album with never-before-heard demos and alternative takes of each song from his album We Move.
We Move was released in September to rave reviews and landed James his first Number 1 in Ireland.
Explaining how these alternative versions came about, he said: "While I was working on We Move, the whole time I kept track of where the songs began, with the intention of putting something together that would serve as a separate artifact as to how it all came together. That's what this version is. Not solo versions, but alternate versions and initial ideas. They’re raw, plain spoken, unadulterated, so that people could listen and hear the songs at the core of the production, the initial idea, the initial thought. Then when they listen to the full album, my hope is that they'll have a little more insight into what it means to make a record like this, the journey it can take."
We Move: Early Recordings and Alternate Versions will be released on November 25 alongside a deluxe boxset featuring a CD and vinyl combination, as well as a reproduction of the notebook James used to write the original lyrics and compositions to his songs.
James has also shared a solo live performance of his song “Get Low,” filmed in Los Angeles earlier this year. You can listen to the performance here:
