Ireland's largest music conference Output Belfast tomorrow will feature talks from Dana, Catherine Martin, and Dónal O'Connor

Ireland's biggest music conference, Output Belfast, takes place tomorrow. The event spans workshops, masterclasses, talks, and networking opportunities for new and established artists alike.

These panels take place at the Metropolitan Arts Centre and Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast. They include topics such as 'Composing for Television Drama', 'Pitching as a Band or Musician to UK Festivals', and 'Writing and Performing for a Eurovision Hit'. The latter will feature Northern Irish Eurovision winner Dana as a panelist.

The keynote will be given by Tom Kiehl, who as the Chief Executive of UK Music represents the music sector to the UK government; as well as Catherine Martin, former Irish Minister for Culture and current Head of Policy at the Irish branch of the Ivors Academy; and David Martin, Chief Executive of the Featured Artists Coalition, a UK trade body representing the rights and interests of music artists.

Performances will take place all over Cathedral Quarter that evening. The 33 participants include Banshee, Dog Swim and Nerves. Attendance of the concerts and panels is free of charge.

"The pain of missed opportunities and industry exploitation halts here", the conference stated. "Output provides the modern toolkit for solutions, connections, and roadmaps that traditional conferences gatekeep behind expensive tickets and exclusive access."

The final keynote, with the role of music in the digital age as its topic, will be given by musicians Bernadette Morris, Joshua Burnside, Úna Monaghan, and founder and artistic director of the Belfast TradFest Dónal O'Connor.
