Ireland Up To 31st In FIFA Rankings
The Republic, Wales, Iceland and Portugal all jump up in the rankings
After the Republic's superb effort at the European Championships in France, we've moved up two places to 31st in the FIFA rankings.
Ireland's campaign was stop-start in the group stage until Wes Holohan's cross to Robbie Brady won us the game against Italy. It was truly the highlight of the campaign and even managed to entice Keano off the bench to punch the air.
After Wales' phenomenal run to the semi-finals, Gareth Bales' team has jumped up a whopping 15 places to 11th. While, the equally impressive thunder clapping Icelanders have earned their highest FIFA ranking ever, skipping up 12 places to 22nd. Euro 2016 champions Portugal hop up ten places to 6th.
Unfortunately, even after an impressive showing at the Euros, Northern Ireland have dropped two places to 28th, England's disappointing campaign has seen them fall down to 13th and Scotland have plummeted down to 50th after their failed qualification attempt.
