Exhibition She bites her tender mind will explore a variety of art mediums including never-seen-before paintings and drawings by Gordon, ceramic sculptures, and immersive video projections and glitter.
Legendary artist Kim Gordon is to perform at the IMMA to mark the opening of her exhibition, She bites her tender mind.
The exhibition opens on Saturday, July 27 until November 10, 2019.
The Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon is a multi-disciplinary artist with a career spanning more than three decades. Her art proves to be just as groundbreaking today as it did back in 1981.
She explores radical experimentation in several mediums of art, including visual, music, fashion, film, writing and performance.
She bites her tender mind will feature a series of new works including previously unseen paintings, drawings, and ceramic sculptures, alongside a glitter installation and an immersive video projection.
On Saturday 27 July, An Evening with Kim Gordon will take place in the IMMA Courtyard, which promises to be an intimate and unmissable event.
Kim's electronic guitar duo with Bill Nace, called Body/Head, are set to perform on the night. Poet Elaine Kahn and guitarist Heather Leigh are also on the line up.
Tickets are on sale now, the exhibition is open to view prior to the performance. If you're fearful of growing peckish, don't worry as food and drinks will be available to purchase on the night.
Tickets are priced at €25.00 plus booking fee and are available on Eventbrite.
