Icons of Metal Combine Festivals Dates for Ozzfest Meets Knotfest
In what is surely a cover up for attempting to summon the devil himself, the metal world has a new mega event to look forward to.
Metal legend Ozzy Osbourne and Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor have announced they are combing their respective festivals, Ozzfest and Knotfest in to one weekend.
Ozzfest Meets Knotfest will take place over the weekend of September 24 and 25. It will take place at the San Manuel Amphitheater and festival grounds in San Bernadino in California.
Ozzy's newly estranged wife but still manager Sharon made the announcement at a press conference today alongside members of Black Sabbath, Slipknot and Anthrax.
Sabbath will be the Saturday night headliners with Slipknot certain to wreak hellfire on the Sunday. Also include in the line up are genre archetypes Slayer, Disturbed, Megadeath, Opeth and Trivium. A stage at the festival is to be called the Lemmy Killmister stage in tribute to the late Motorhead frontman and bassist.
The headliners will have other concert duties prior to the festival with Sabbath beginning their "The End" tour and Slipknot play dates across North America during the summer.
