Hüsker Dü frontman Bob Mould announces Irish date
Bob Mould will be playing material from classic albums, such as 'Zen Arcade', 'Workbook', 'Poison Years' and 'Silver Age'.
Former vocalist of Hüsker Dü Bob Mould will play Whelans in Dublin on January 19th as part of his upcoming Solo Electric tour next year.
The '80s cult icon will bring his brand of alternative rock to Ireland performing songs from his prior band's work and solo material, including 2020's Blue World and the recently released career-spanning box set Distortion 1989-2019.
"I'm looking forward to the upcoming Solo Electric shows in the UK and Ireland," Mould said. "I’m excited to be performing songs from 2020’s Blue Hearts, as well as revisiting the prior 40 years of my songbook."
Distortion 1989-2019 features a spoken foreword from SNL and Portlandia actor Fred Armisen.
"I’m a longtime fan of Fred’s work, especially the Portlandia series," he praised. "Fred and I have made music together in the past – with my band, with Ian Rubbish, on Late Night with Seth Meyers, and at the occasional birthday party. So, it was a thrill for me to "unbox" the various configurations, geek out on the packaging, and share a handful of fun stories."
Tickets for Bob Mould at Whelans on January 19 are on sale from ticketmaster.ie.
You'll be able to pick them up this Friday, July 23 at 10am.
