Hot Press Track of the Day: Maija Sofia 'Flowers'
Folk pop singer Maija Sofia's latest release 'Flowers' is a song about trauma and violence, loosely based upon Angela Carter's collection of short stories The Bloody Chamber.
Maija Sofia's soft haze of a song 'Flowers' is a heavenly blend of lo-fi and dream pop. Her voice is both eerie and pleasant and beautifully complemented by blunt sounding drums. Think Jesus and Mary Chain meets Angel Olsen.
The Dublin based artist is currently studying English Literature in Trinity and working on her debut album.
But for now, enjoy this fairytale track and watch the clouds go by.
