Hope of the States' guitarist found dead
There's tragic news from Bath where Hope Of The States guitarist, James Lawrence, was found dead at 4.30 this morning in Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios.
It appears that the 26-year-old, who was discovered by other members of the Chichester six-piece, had hung himself.
The band had been putting the finishing touches to their debut album, which they'd previously worked on with Sigur Ros producer Ken Thomas at Grouse Lodge studio in Rosemount, County Westmeath.
Grouse Lodge wasn't the only Irish connection with the band being signed to Sony's Seeker imprint by former Sony Ireland A&R man Hugh Murray who's now based in their London head office.
One of the UK's brightest prospects, Hope Of The States made their Irish debut towards the end of last year in Whelan's.
