Guinness set to launch Our Thursdays talent search
Snow Patrol are on board for the adventure
The announcement of a major new Irish talent search is imminent, Hot Press has learned. While the details have yet to be revealed, that's the inside track from the Guinness camp, whose music team are preparing a number of impressive initiatives that will take full shape over the coming summer.
In the first stage of what promises to become a fascinating three months of live music action, Guinness have joined forces with Snow Patrol to offer up-and-coming talent the chance to be heard, kicking off with a Guinness stage at the Northern Ireland rockers' homecoming concert at Ward Park in Bangor on June 5 2010.
In Ward Park, local bands and musicians will have the chance to perform to thousands of music fans at what promises to be one of the live highlights of the summer – with BBC also kicking in by filming Snow Patrol's homecoming for broadcast on BBC Northern Ireland and internationally via the BBC iPlayer.
As part of the brand's unique partnership with Snow Patrol, Guinness will also be giving emerging music acts throughout Ireland an opportunity to showcase their talent at a series of live music events, which will take place on Thursdays through the summer, under the Our Thursdays banner. What Hot Press can reveal definitively at this stage is that Guinness and Snow Patrol will be looking for a total of 100 emerging music acts this summer, to be a part of something very special later this year.
Bands and other acts that want to get involved in the Our Thursdays activity can find out more by visiting [link]www.guinness.com/ourthursdays[/link], where all will indeed be revealed. For updates, stay tuned...
