Gilla Band to drop new single and video for 'Backwash' tomorrow
The Irish rockers' upcoming new album Most Normal will be released on Rough Trade Records on October 7th, 2022.
Dublin noise-rockers Gilla Band are back with a brand new single, taken from their upcoming third studio album Most Normal.
'Backwash' is set to debut on BBC 6 Music with Mary Anne Hobbs at 11:30am BST, with the video going live at 11:45am BST on YouTube.
The quartet will be joining in on the video chat, so stay tuned for tomorrow's exciting new offering from the band that brought us Holding Hands With Jamie and The Talkies (2019).
The Irish rockers' upcoming new album Most Normal will be released on Rough Trade Records on October 7th, 2022. The project is self produced and recorded and mixed by the band’s Daniel Fox at Sonic Studios and their rehearsal place.
The album's first cut, 'Eight Fivers', was released a few weeks ago and saw Dara’s voice acts as the melodic cry - yearning and dancing over the driving beat. As with most Gilla Band tracks, the simple introduction is only a warm up for the screeching, atmospheric vacuums of textures created with fascinating guitar soundscapes.
Propulsive, impulsive and energetic, Dara Kiely (vocals), Daniel Fox (bass), Adam Faulkner (drums), Alan Duggan (guitar) at their trademark best, so 'Backwash' is sure to be a highlight. To build up hype, there's reportedly a reference to putting vaseline on a trout in the track.
Gilla Band are due to play Dublin's National Stadium on December 9th and Belfast's Empire on December 15th following their acclaimed All Together Now festival gig.
