Gavin Fox rejoins Turn for Xmas tour
Original Turn bassist Gavin Fox is back in the fold for the band’s Christmas gigs.
The tour takes them to the Spirit Store, Dundalk (December 2); Dolan’s, Limerick (3); Left Bank, Sligo (15); Whelan’s, Dublin (16); Stables, Mullingar (17); and Anix, Oldcastle (30).
“My God it sounds good!” says singer of Ollie Cole of the rehearsals that have been going on this week. “Gav was just meant to play those songs. It’s so nice the three of us together again, and just before we start playing the UK. Perfect!
“It’s funny how it has even affected some of the new songs,” he continues. “He’s a hard hitting gunslinger and solid as fuck.”
It remains to be see whether the arrangement becomes permanent, with Fox re-joining his Idlewild bandmates on December 22 for a show in the Glasgow Barrowlands.
