Garrett "Jacknife" Lee on board with U2
Garrett "Jacknife" Lee is the latest person to assist U2 with the recording of their somewhat overdue new album
Formerly a guitarist with Dublin hopefuls Thee Amazing Colossal Men and Compulsion, Lee has morphed into a top dance producer and naughty bootleger – the things he's done to Eminem, Run DMC and Missy Elliot are truly wondrous.
Lee, who's in Dublin as we speak helping Steve Lillywhite out, says the sessions that the sessions are "going really well."
Meanwhile, U2 weigh in at number five on a newly published list of Ireland's wealthiest people.
The band are collectively estimated to be worth €750 million which compares to the €1.8 billion amassed by Rich List top dog Tony O'Reilly.
Outside the top 20 but still worth a cool €98 million and €23 million respectively are Van Morrison and The Corrs.
