French singer Charles Aznavour has died aged 94
The French singer and songwriter Charles has died at the age of 94, after a career lasting more than 80 years.
According to news reports, he passed away in his home in Alpilles in southeastern France.
Known for his unique tenor, Aznavour is probably most familiar to French audiences. However, In 1998, Aznavour was named Entertainer of the Century by CNN and users of Time Online from around the globe. He was recognised as the century's outstanding performer, with nearly 18% of the total vote, edging out Elvis Presley and Bob Dylan.
