Frank Ocean to Present Spotify's 'Legendary Genius Award'
The Secret Genius Awards will celebrate people within the production community that contribute the most streamed songs on Spotify.
The awards will take place at L.A.’s Vibiana Cathedral on November 1st.
Categories for nominees include songwriter, producer, motion picture adaptation and social message of the year.
The awards are part of Spotify's wider effort to appreciate "the guiding force behind the music industry".
They have also created secret genius podcasts, playlists and an ambassador programme where famous songwriters and producers will collaborate to create a hit song.
Frank Ocean involement is surprising, as the R&B star rarely shows up for public events.
The singer will present the co-founder of Def Jam and president of Columbia Records Rick Rubin with the inaugural Legendary Genius Award on the night.
