First Hot Press Chatroom acts announced

Bell X1, Damien Dempsey, ABC’s Martin Fry, Dinosaur Jr., The Duckworth Lewis Method, Richmond Fontaine, rap pioneers The Sugarhill Gang and reggae legends The Wailers are among the first batch of acts to be confirmed for the Hot Press Chatroom @ Electric Picnic.
Returning to Stradbally for its fifth year, the Chatroom allows fans to watch as top Picnic acts are grilled by HP interrogators, and then ask (im) pertinent questions of their own.
There’s usually time for a bit of autograph signing and, on occasions, acoustic sets with the aforementioned Mr. Dempsey, Josh Ritter, The Frames, and Stephen Fretwell all bringing guitars with them in previous years.
Interview-wise, the bijou tent has played host to everyone from New Order and Flaming Lips to James Blunt and The Roots with a soupcon of Cathy Davey, Mani, Gemma Hayes, The Go! Team, Michael Franti, Tommy Tiernan, Mick Jones, Bloc Party, The Undertones, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Gang Of Four, Broken Social Scene, The Rapture and DJ Shadow thrown in for good measure.
