Fiona Apple releases new song 'Horns of a Bull' for new Apple TV+ series Lucky
The new track serves as the theme song for the upcoming thriller miniseries starring Anya Taylor-Joy.
Fiona Apple has released a new song, 'Horns of a Bull', written as the theme for the upcoming Apple TV+ miniseries Lucky.
The track marks the latest original music from the acclaimed singer-songwriter, who co-produced the song with longtime collaborator and drummer Amy Aileen Wood.
The song was written specifically for Lucky, an adaptation of Marissa Stapley's 2021 novel starring Anya Taylor-Joy as a former con artist whose life is upended after a multimillion-dollar heist.
'Horns of a Bull' is Apple's latest original release since 2025's benefit single 'Pretrial (Let Her Go Home)' which was inspired by her work as a court watcher and released in support of campaign group Free Black Mamas DMV, highlighting the impact of the US cash bail system on women held in pretrial detention.
Since then, she has also featured on The Waterboys' 'Letter From An Unknown Girlfriend' and collaborated with Cara Delevingne on the song 'Need It'.
Apple's most recent album, Fetch the Bolt Cutters, came out in 2020 and won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.
In its review, Hot Press called the album "a rich tapestry of sonic experiments" and hailed it as "one of her most rewarding records to date."
In a recent Instagram video, the singer-songwriter explained that she has been trying to channel "the endless barrage of horrors" into new music, adding: "I just didn't want you to think that I was turning a blind eye or that I didn't see what was going on or that I didn't care. I fucking care. Or that I'm not trying, and I am trying and I don't know if I'm going to succeed."
Apple first emerged in the 1990s with her debut album Tidal and its hit single 'Criminal', before going on to release acclaimed records including When the Pawn..., Extraordinary Machine and The Idler Wheel.... Across a career spanning nearly three decades, she has earned widespread recognition and five Grammy Awards.
