Dublin Band Stone Sea to Play Whelans Gig
To celebrate the release of their new EP Vaporizer, Stone Sea will be playing in Whelan’s tomorrow Wednesday 25th.
The recently formed three piece alternative rock group have had a busy couple of weeks with the release of their singles Peace at Ease and Seeking Time.
When speaking of their biggest stylistic influences, drummer Ross McDermott cites Black Sabbath and Nirvana, with "more progressive rock influenced song structures" incorporated too.
McDermott explains the concept behind their EP as being "song by song, the process and the different stages of a person undergoing a transformation in life".
Lead single Peace at Ease lyrically reflects someone who has just reached "a sense of peace with their good and bad experiences", with the follow up tracks conveying the various stages of introspection that tend to follow.
Tomorrow will be the band's fifth major gig and they'll be opened by Skodo Komodo, who’ll take to the stage at 8pm.
Tickets are €7 and are available at the door.
