DEAF Fundraiser at Meeting House Square
Eat, drink and be merry at festival fundraiser
Friday August 21 sees Temple Bar's Meeting House Square transform to restaurant, bar and stage as the DEAF crew organize a fundraiser for October's festival.
The line-up is impressive, with Patrick Kelleher and his Cold Dead Hands kicking things off at 6.30pm. Other performers on the night will include Channel One, Thread Pulls, The Jimmy Cake, and Boxcutter (see full running order below). Skinny Wolves & Maximum Joy will be on the decks between sets.
Running Order:
6.30pm - Patrick Kelleher & His Cold Dead Hands
7.20pm - Channel One
8.15pm - Thread Pulls
9 pm - The Jimmy Cake
9.45pm - Boxcutter
10.30pm - Dark Room Notes
11.30pm - Spilly Walker
12.15am - Sarsparilla
From 6pm there will be a full bar (with drink discounts for those counting the pennies) & restaurant setup on the square from Porterhouse Bars & Pintxo Tapas Restaurant in Temple Bar.
Tickets €10.00 from Road Records, City Discs and Spindizzy (no booking fees will be charged). Online from www.tickets.ie. Tickets will be available at the door, but DEAF recommend you get yours in advance to avoid disappointment.
The festival itself is set to be a goodie too. 'New Spaces' for DEAF will see a series of 7 gigs happen in unusual spaces around Dublin; shops, empty offices, a van, an apartment, a train station can all become musical spaces. The date, time and artist will be announced in the DEAF programme but you will have to follow DEAF on Twitter, Facebook or the website to get the locations, which will be announced online no more than 24hours before the performance takes place.
'New Spaces' gigs are free of charge and last just 30-40minutes, showcasing the talent of some of Ireland’s most inventive, electronically influenced, new acts. Artists include BabyBeef, Neosupervital, Kevin Blake, Somadrone, Sarsaparilla, Beautiful and Polly Fibre.
