Daybreaker!
Seize The Day, the new album by Damien Dempsey, finally due out next month. Read on for tour dates and news of the fate of that Massive Attack/Sinead O'Connor collaboration too
Sinéad O'Connor's pal Damien Dempsey has announced details of his new album.
Due through his own Clear label on May 16, Seize The Day is preceded on April 18 by the collection's flagship single, 'Negative Vibes'.
There's also talk of the Dempsey-penned song that O'Connor recorded with Massive Attack making it into the shops.
"The tracks is beautiful but not relevant to this record (100th Window)," Massive's Robert Del Naja told Hot Press last month. "I don't know whether it'll be as a B-side or on the next album, but it will get used eventually and hopefully open a few doors for him."
In the meantime, the Dublin troubadour opens for Christy Moore at the Millennium Forum, Derry (March 18 & 19); Nerve Centre, Derry (20); Ulster Hall, Belfast (May 11 & 12); and Andersonstown Leisure Centre, Derry (13).
He also plays a headline show in his own right at Whelan's on March 16.
