David Holmes, Róisín El Cherif and Paul Weller have released a new single titled 'Resistance in the Dark' in aid of Medical Aid for Palestinians.
The track has been released under the name The Five Techniques, a music project created by Belfast DJ & producer David Holmes.
The Five Techniques are made up of a collective of artists who believe music, art & humanity can be acts of resistance. The trio first connected at Gig For Gaza, which was curated by Weller.
Alongside the song there is a visual video showing real footage from Gaza of the devastation that has been caused as a result of the genocide and displacement.
The record also features Fontaines D.C.'s Tom Coll on drums and composer Brian Irvine on synths.
“From Naji Ali to today’s Children of Gaza, Palestine is the story of a people’s fight for freedom," said El Cherif. "The freedom to be born free in your homeland. For Palestine, our beloved.”
“This is our response to the ongoing land grab, displacement, and genocide against the Palestinian people by the brutal Israeli government,” said Weller. "We wanted to show our solidarity with the people of Gaza and Palestine and their ongoing struggle and resistance. It’s a struggle of all people denied their rights.”
