Darkness may join Bowie for Witnness.
The Darkness join David Bowie as one of the acts being mooted for a headline spot at Witnness.
Like the Jones boy, Justin Hawkins & Co. have been confirmed for Scotland's T In The Park bash which takes place over the same July 10/11 weekend and, due to promoter MCD's involvement in both, shares much of its bill with Witnness.
One stumbling block could be the fact that The Darkness' two previous gigs in Ireland have been staged by MCD's rivals Aiken Promotions.
What is absolutely, 100% definite is that Friday December 12 finds The Darkness' Yuletastic 'Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)' single making it into Irish record shops.
Housed in a very nifty Jim Fitzpatrick sleeve – he of Thin Lizzy, Ash and Sinéad O'Connor fame – it's our best hope of keeping the latest Pop Idol cack away from the Crimbo number one spot.
