Damien Dempsey announces new album Hold Your Joy and December gigs at Vicar Street
Damo is back in Vicar Street this December for six nights
On October 25, Damien Dempsey is set to release Hold Your Joy – his first album of new music since 2017's SOUL SUN. To coincide with the news, he's shared the title track today, and has announced a major run of shows at Vicar Street in Dublin this December (16, 17, 19, 20, 22 & 23).
He's also set to tour the rest of Ireland in 2025 – with dates listed below:
Hold Your Joy will feature 16 songs, drawing inspiration from the Book of Joy by Douglas Abrams.
"Hold your Joy came from a great book I read that really lifted me when I was down in the dumps," Dempsey comments, "he got two wise men together to talk about the importance of trying to stay grateful and joyful, these two men had lived through wars and oppression in their native lands, exile and apartheid, but maintained that you can do far more good for the world and those around you and yourself. If you try to stay grateful and joyful through it all.”

Tickets for Damien Dempsey at Vicar Street are €46, and go on sale on October 8 at 10am from ticketmaster.ie
